{"id":6634,"date":"2015-02-17T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2015-02-17T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.hunimed.hmnts.webiz.team\/news\/ptx3-il-gene-che-frena-il-cancro\/"},"modified":"2015-02-17T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2015-02-17T00:00:00","slug":"ptx3-il-gene-che-frena-il-cancro","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hunimed.humweb.webiz.team\/it\/news\/ptx3-il-gene-che-frena-il-cancro\/","title":{"rendered":"PTX3, il gene che frena il cancro"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">E&#8217; la scoperta emersa da\u00a0uno studio coordinato dal\u00a0prof. <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.humanitas-research.org\/mantovani-alberto\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Alberto Mantovani<\/a><\/strong>, docente di Humanitas University e\u00a0Prorettore dell&#8217;Universit\u00e0 per la Ricerca,\u00a0e finanziato da <strong>AIRC<\/strong> &#8211; Associazione Italiana per la Ricerca contro il Cancro.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pubblicato sull&#8217;autorevolissima rivista\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cell.com\/abstract\/S0092-8674%2815%2900005-7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Cell<\/strong><\/a>, lo studio rivela l&#8217;esistenza di\u00a0un <strong>gene<\/strong> capace di &#8220;<strong>spegnere<\/strong>&#8221; il <strong>cancro<\/strong>\u00a0tenendo sotto <strong>controllo<\/strong> l&#8217;<strong>infiammazione<\/strong> che favorisce l&#8217;insorgenza e lo sviluppo del tumore, diversamente da\u00a0tutti gli altri <strong>oncosoppressori<\/strong>\u00a0fino ad oggi noti, che invece\u00a0agiscono direttamente\u00a0sulla cellula tumorale.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;Per capire l&#8217;importanza di questo studio, che ha coinvolto molti medici e ricercatori di Humanitas, in collaborazione con prestigiosi istituti internazionali &#8211; spiega il prof. Alberto Mantovani &#8211; bisogna ricordare quali sono le <strong>caratteristiche<\/strong> di\u00a0una <strong>cellula tumorale<\/strong>: essa ha sempre <strong>attivi<\/strong> gli\u00a0<strong>oncogeni<\/strong>, i geni che la fanno riprodurre, e viceversa ha disattivati\u00a0gli\u00a0oncosoppressori (che sopprimono la crescita tumorale), come se fosse un&#8217;automobile con l&#8217;acceleratore sempre schiacciato\u00a0e i freni guasti;\u00a0\u00e8 inoltre\u00a0inserita in una nicchia ecologica particolare, un<strong> micro-ambiente infiammatorio<\/strong> nel quale e grazie al quale cresce e prolifera&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/6cIhJH2toPM\" width=\"725\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Per la prima volta uno studio dimostra che una molecola dell&#8217;immunit\u00e0 innata, <strong>PTX3*<\/strong>, scoperta 20 anni fa dallo stesso Prof. Mantovani e dal suo team, si comporta come un oncosoppressore con un meccanismo nuovo e unico, ossia <strong>frena<\/strong> la <strong>formazione<\/strong> del <strong>cancro<\/strong>\u00a0controllando la <strong>risposta infiammatoria<\/strong>. &#8220;Le nostre ricerche hanno evidenziato che in alcuni tumori (colon, pelle e un tipo di sarcomi) &#8211; prosegue Mantovani &#8211; PTX3 viene &#8216;spenta&#8217; precocemente. Lo\u00a0spegnimento toglie i freni a una <strong>cascata<\/strong> di\u00a0<strong>mediatori<\/strong> dell&#8217;infiammazione detta &#8216;<strong>complemento<\/strong>&#8216;.
